Ursula Spence received her B.A. degree in Political Science/English from the
University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1978. She worked in business and caring
for disabled children for 15 years. Ursula then went back to school and earned her
M.Ed. in special education from Vanderbilt University in 1995. Ursula began by
teaching in public schools and moved to the Catholic School System of the
Diocese of Nashville, Tennessee. While teaching, she earned 30 more graduate
hours and two additional certifications: Elementary Education 1-8 and Middle
School Language Arts.
Ursula is the author of two books. She enjoys reading, writing, needle crafts,
traveling, and her little chihuahua, Fala. She lives with her sister in Port Washington.
They both dote on their brothers' families, especially their 7 nephews and 2 nieces
who still live in Tennessee.
